Hi, I am Ken Haynes, creator of the Useful Tech Stuff YouTube channel. The channel covers PCs, operating systems, technology, microprocessors, the Arduino platform, and electronics.
I am originally from London, but now I am living near Seattle, Washington USA. I started my career as a programmer in 1981, working on the Xerox 820, using the BASIC programming language then moved on to C and Assembly Language.
Since those heady days, I have learned and developed projects in Delphi, C#, .NET, C++, Python, HTML, WordPress, JavaScript, ColdFusion, CFScript, PHP, SQL, and a few others. As for operating systems, I started with CP/M and DOS. I have used every Microsoft operating system since then. I am also a Linux user.
In June of 1990, I was elected as a Fellow of the Institution of Analysts and Programmers.
Some of the organisations I have been employed by, or worked on contract for are; The International Stock Exchange, General Electric Information Services, Environment Agency (UK), Reuters, Abbey National Bank, Provident Mutual, and many others. In my last position, I was an IT Project Manager.
I love electronics and microcontrollers, particularly the Arduino platform. My love of electronics started in 1980, and I have been tinkering ever since.
I am currently working on some 3D printed projects, having acquired a Bambu Lab H2D 3D printer. I am also working on some Arduino projects. You can see my first 3D project, on my Projects page. I plan to add videos on the subject of the Arduino platform in the near future, on my YouTube Channel.
I am the inventor of Pog Plugs. I created a video on this subject which you can view here, and you can read about them on my Projects page.
If you have any suggestions for topics either here, or on my YouTube channel, please let me know via my Contact Form.
If you are interested to see what I have been up to recently, you can check-out some of my recent projects here.
